Configuration Management
Our Approach
We believe that Configuration management and its central tool, the configuration management database, present opportunities to integrate business and IT processes. The obsession with tracking every possible detail leads down a blind alley; configuration items must be seen in terms of their value to the business, not as individual components.
The aim of configuration management should be to map the relationship between business critical resources, be it hardware, software, personnel or process. Liken recognises that knowledge is often the key asset of an organisation and other items play supporting roles in its collection and exploitation.
